Reverse Die h

Primary Characteristics

Reverse die h is one of the nice O/O varieties of the 1881-O series.  It is clearly distinguishable from the other O/O varieties because the doubling occurs at the right inside and top outside of the mint mark.  There is no diagonal feature inside the mint mark.

The two VAMs are distinguished by their obverse features.  VAM 10 has a triple or quadrupled date on the 18-1 (although we have seen slight doubling on the second 8) numerals.

On VAM 21 the obverse is a normal die without the date issues.
