Reverse Die r

Primary Characteristics

Reverse die r appears only twice, in VAMs 48 and 60, and can be recognized by a doubling of the mint mark with thin vertical line on the inside left.  There can also be a doubling of the lower right wreath.  In VAM 48 it is paired with a normal die 1, so there are no obverse features to describe.

VAM 60 has the same features as VAM 48, but with the addition of a doubling of a portion of the legend.  Also on VAM 60 there are some fine diagonal polishing lines at the eagle's left sin-neck gap.  VAM 60 is also paired with obverse die 1.
