Speculative History

This also appears to be a Mint bag toned coin with a crescent of color toward five o'clock on the obverse.  There is an area that roughly corresponds to the same area on the reverse.

The color progression is right for a bag toned coin, and the reflectivity left in the fields makes this an attractive coin to study.

Stages and Colors

There is obviously a lot of silver left in the color on this coin, and it is enhanced by the reflectivity remaining in the coin's field.  But as you move right from the back of Liberty's hair to the rim you go up the color spectrum.

We can easily pick out cyan, yellow, orange, red, and a little magenta.  All of these point to this being a late first cycle and early to mid second cycle coin.

Hidden in the "dirty" look of the reverse is some orange, which begins to match up with the obverse second cycle.
