Comments:  Sometimes we purchase a coin because it will illustrate a point and not because it is especially attractive.  This is one of those coins.

We have no idea what the black substance on the coin is, but it covers it to a point that really detracts from the overall appeal.  But if you look beyond that the coin is a mint state coin.  Based on the reverse the coin could be graded much higher.  But the obverse has no eye appeal and we assume that is what got it to a grade 60.

A grade 60 coin can be difficult to locate because it is really a default between Mint State 61 and Almost Uncirculated 58.  It hits the gap of "I know it isn't circulated, but it isn't a good coin."

VAM 6 is easily recognized since its only characteristic is the left leaning mint mark.
