Comments: From the copy of the coin shown below with the color dropped out this coin looks to be graded correctly to us. There are minimal marks on the obverse and reverse and there is some nice remaining reflectivity.
It is very obvious that this one made it into the toned coin collection and discussion.
Speculative History
Although the one-sided color often speaks to roll or bag toning it just doesn't feel that way when you look at this coin. The reverse has so little color that it is difficult to see how the obverse could be this far along without the reverse acquiring a little more color.
Usually coins tone from the edge in and not the center out, so that is also confusing. This is one of those confusing coins that is fun to speculate about but will probably never be deciphered.

Stages and Colors
The color in this coin also leaves a little question, but the dark area over the ear gives us some clues. It would seem that the overall color is gold and not yellow. This is confirmed by the little bit of deep magenta and colors closer to dull black.
The coin has some ethereal qualities to us, almost like a bad Halloween mask.
