Die/VAM Matrix
VAM 1F - Pitted Obverse Right Field and Eagle is a pairing of Obverse Die 1 with Reverse Die a. We have only six examples, ranging from an F 15 to MS 64, not as much material as we would like for analysis but perhaps enough. Of the six coins, three are Mint State and if there are die cracks they should show there. The obverse die shows only minor signs of die cracks at the "E" in E PLURIBUS UNUM. This is probably a coin to watch for a later die state to see if die cracks developed further.
The reverse die seems to be free of die cracks at all grades.
Die cracks are shown in green and die breaks in red. Click on any image for a larger view.
