Comments:  At first we thought this was a toned coin but it actually is just discolored with a clear area down the center.  Apparently the middle of the obverse was shielded from the source of discoloration with something that is difficult to imagine.

 

This coin was picked from eBay at a very reasonable price, probably because of the grade and color.  But on second examination this is probably an AU 58 coin, and the reverse looks like it could still be mint state.

 

This VAM is instantly recognizable without even looking at the mint mark.  It is the only VAM with this curl configuration at the neck, and then it can verified with the doubled second 1.
