Comments:  This is a coin we would have to say averages out to be an MS 64.  The strike is good on both sides and the fields are largely clear.  There are few bag marks and none are deep.  But the dull color from the little bit of toning detracts from its overall appeal and it has a dull look to it.

 

VAM 17 is easily identified because of the alignment mark under the second 8.  It is the only VAM in the 1881-O with this feature.
