VAM:  1B1- Die Gouge in DOL & Denticle Impressions above DOL

Comments:  VAM 1B1 is readily recognizable from the clash and the gouge through the DOL on the reverse.  This is a good example but with significant bag marks to earn the MS 62 grade.  This is one of several coins purchased at different times that all graded and VAMed the same.  The certificate numbers are almost sequential and grades are the same so we assume someone graded a group or roll all at once.

 

Some of the eye appeal of the coin is lost with the heavy bag marks on the cheek and the fields have enough abrasions to keep this one in the middle of the grade.
