Comments:  The grade on this coin is right, but we think toward the lower end of the range when compared to some of the AU 50 coins in the collection.  We believe the color shows that at some point in the past this coin had very nice reflectivity on both sides.

 

The VAM aspect of this coin is interesting since the eye is heavily deteriorated.  This probably means this one was made near the end of the die life.  The feature is so distinct that it would be visible at an even lower grade.
