VAM: 65 - Doubled 18-1

Comments:  Like so many coins in this series the VAM 65 involves date doubling.  So the issue becomes how it is doubled and which digits.  Because the 18 are from the master die they tend to repeat in design.  The last 1 is doubled on the bottom left of the vertical shaft.  This is one of our discovery VAMs and with this coin we now have four examples.

 

The coin looks to us to be graded about right with no major bag marks and some good reflectivity left in the fields.  We did not include the coin in our toned group because the color is more terminal and has no real range.
