VAM:  44 - Doubled Reverse Legend & Wreaths, Vertical Die Scratch in Front of Eye

Comments:  We are a little confused on the grade of this coin.  It is definitely above average for the grade, but we would have pushed it into the MS63 grade.  The obverse device is clear of any significant bag marks.  While slightly more abraded, the reverse is still solid.  If there is any knock against the coin it might be that the strike isn't full in the hair above the ear.

 

Plus grades are more difficult to create or find because the difference can be opinion of the grader on eye appeal.  When acquired this was only our second MS62+ graded coin.
