Comments:  The VAM 1D is so distinctive that it seems to be attractive at any grade.  This coin is worn and dirty, but the pummeled eye is what draws your attention.

 

This coin might have the detail of an AU 53, but it has virtually no eye appeal outside of the unusual VAM features.  It is not our lowest graded VAM 1D, but it is near the bottom.
