VAM:  1B1- Die Gouge in DOL & Denticle Impressions above DOL

Comments:  All of the VAMs with the die gouge in the DOL of DOLLAR are interesting and this one is no exception.  The unique detail for VAM 1B1 is the denticle impressions above the circular gouge.  Having a coin down at the AU 53 grade with the denticle impressions still present is a treat.

 

This is a solid AU 53, but nothing more.  There is a little color on the obverse but dirt and wear obscure it enough that we did not include it in the Toned Coins section.
