Comments:  The dirt and discoloration on the obverse probably places it on the lower end of the AU 53 grade.  There is a little color, but it is very early toning and we did not include it in our toned coin section because there is little to learn from the color.

 

The detail on the coin seems appropriate to the grade, but the lack of eye appeal woudl push it toward the lower end.
