Comments:  Well, dull and lifeless woudl be ample descriptions for this coin.  We place it toward the lower end of the grade because of its appearance and not wear.  The detail is appropriate to the grade, just not the appearance.

 

Also, VAM 53 has proven to be the most common of all the VAMs for the 81-O so there woudl not be any rarity interest in the coin either.  A good study coin but nothing more.
