Comments:  VAM 53 has proven to be one of the more plentiful VAMs in the series.  So plentiful that this is our fifty-ninth example.  Excessive obverse pitting, and a unique die crack through the mint mark make this VAM readily identifiable.

 

This is a very nice coin for the grade and the bag marks might place it toward the upper end of the grade.  But there is a flatness to the device from abrasions that probably brings it back to the middle.
